There is nothing more frustrating than working out for weeks and sticking to a strict diet and still not being able to ditch a small belly pooch. Unfortunately, fat that accumulates in this area can be extremely stubborn and for decades, the only solution seemed to be an invasive tummy tuck surgery.
Luckily, times have changed and there has been innovative technology invented. At True Form Medical Group, we offer Emsculpt. This treatment allows men and women to build up their abdominal muscles and achieve the sculpted abs they desire. Another great thing about Emsculpt is that it can create extraordinarily lifted results when used on the buttocks. The best part: it’s quicker than traditional exercise and requires no surgery or downtime.
Here’s a little more information about the innovative technology behind Emsculpt:
Emsculpt is the first FDA approved nonsurgical device that can build muscle in the abdomen and buttocks. Pulsations of high-intensity electromagnetic energy (HIFEM) cause strong muscle contractions, stronger than the ones achieved during a standard workout. A single Emsculpt session produces contractions that would be the same as performing 20,000 sit-ups or squats within 30 minutes.
For the average person, this couldn’t be accomplished in 100 workouts. During these contractions, Emsculpt is strengthening the fibers of the muscles and as those muscles build, fats cells are diminished. This produces a toned, better-defined stomach or a more lifted butt. Studies have shown that Emsculpt treatments can effectively boost muscle mass by 16%.
The HIFEM technology associated with Emsculpt is similar to the energy used by MRIs to produce images of the body. With Emsculpt, the energy is directed at the body’s core muscles, including the serratus anterior on the ribs and the rectus abdominis muscles, or abs. On the buttocks, the muscles that are targeted include the gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus muscles. This treatment creates a stronger, more sculpted backside.
During the advanced treatment, a paddle-like device is fastened to the abdomen, around the same area that a belt is worn. It can also be positioned over the buttocks for treatment of that area.
While there usually is no pain experienced during or after an Emsculpt treatment, though some patients report being surprised by the quick jolt that can come with the first lower-level energy pulse that it produces. Throughout the session, the intensity of the pulses increases and while the muscles are flexed far beyond what they are normally able to do, you can continue to rest comfortably.
Since your muscles contract 20,000 times during each session, it is common to experience a rush of endorphins, like that the feeling of the “natural high” that often follows an intense workout.
Because Emsculpt is a noninvasive procedure, there is little, or no downtime required following a session and patients don’t have to do anything to prepare for it beforehand. In fact, some patients schedule their appointments at True Form Medical Group during their lunch hour, come in for a session, and return to work immediately afterward. It’s that easy!
